WamBam! Thank you Sichuan!

10:43

Hey guys!

I'm back with a little review for you all and first off, i am really excited for this one. The reason that i am so excited to review this is because it's something i have never heard of before and i am always open to trying new products, especially food as i enjoy experimenting and cooking with various ingredients etc.

'WamBam Sichuan' is a little company in London that sells Sichuan ingredients to spice up your cooking.

What IS Sichuan? you're asking.. Well, it is a spicy and rich flavouring that gives plenty of chilli heat to your meals, and kind of a strange tingly feeling that numbs your tongue which comes from the peppercorns. (I actually did the challenge that is stated on the back of the package which includes popping a peppercorn in your mouth and im 99% sure that my taste buds were vibrating!!!)

It's very popular in China and Sichuan food is known for being explosively tasty. They call the chillies and peppercorns 'Mala', which translates to 'hot and numbing'.

I was kindly sent a package to try which included, green and red peppercorns, 18 month chilli bean paste and also 2 Sichuan oils.  I immediately thought to add them to my stir fry dish when i cooked one and that was then i first used the oil. I opted for red (tingly fizzy) as i LOVE spicy foods, and this did not disappoint. The flavour it gives is satisfying, and you feel like you're dining out at a restaurant!

The next meal i made a few days later was chicken stir fry, where i added peppercorns to this. They are quite small, so you have to be careful when adding these to your food as these are the culprits of giving you a numb tongue.
I really was not ready for this feeling and i did stick my tongue out a few times before realising what was actually going on, lol!!

The only way i can describe them is if you've ever had something that makes your mouth numb (maybe clove oil for toothache? or the aftermath of the dentist) and you can't feel your tongue, well think of that but think of your tongue vibrating too. I literally had to touch my tongue to see if i could actually feel it vibrating. (which i couldn't but it was so cool!)

- I would definitely recommend buying these ingredients and they last a while too. I still have quite an amount left of everything and the good thing about the paste is, you can use it to fry your meat or vegetables in to get the flavour on them!

They have some great recipes on their website that you can try if you want, and i will link them here.  Recipes to try

*Disclaimer - I was kindly sent this package by the company themselves and i have given my 100% honest opinion. Pictures are my own.

'Born Wild Tea' was made for me!

05:47

Hey Everyone!

Wow it's been a little while since i've done a post but i'm back and with some awesome new teas that i'm about to tell you all about so you can go and try for yourself!

HONESTLY, THESE ARE AMAZING!!!

I was recently sent some natural flavoured herbal teas over by a lovely lady who actually developed her own business 'born wild tea' if you visit their website you can read more about the company and what they offer and do (you can even become a tea host and host your own tea parties. tea lovers let me hear you holla!!!🎉

First up i tasted the 'Raspberry Lemonade' tea, which you can actually make a blend of it iced. I honestly haven't tried this yet as i've been waiting for a really hot day so i can enjoy a refreshing cooler, however having tasted the drink hot, i can confirm that this is unreal. The taste is literally what you need when you fancy something fruity but not too sweet and also refreshing! It helps crave your sweet tooth and actually feels really nice settling on your stomach rather than having a 'greasy' feeling that is often left by some fruit teas. (i'm not sure if this is just myself but just incase others know what i'm talking about i have stated it)

Above is a picture of the teas i had been sent and as you can see, they are all natural and take less than just a spoon to make. Literally, spoon a teaspoon amount into a cup with some water and let it brew for around 1-2 mins with the max ever time only being 3-4 mins. (In that time you can wash the spoon you've used and wipes up any spilt water or tea and boom! your tea is done and ready for you to enjoy!)

Next up, i tasted the 'Praline Brownie' and this was perfect as it was actually tried on Easter Sunday morning and after not eating much chocolate, i swapped my (what would of been) chocolate egg for a tea that was guilt free and much preferred!

This tea smelled amaze. Imagine the smell of a luxury belgian chocolate brownie with pralines? (If you can imagine that) but it wasn't sickly and surprising didn't taste like hot chcolate. It was more of a hint but something i could drink over and over!

During that same week, i tried the 'Apple Crumble' as an afternoon refresher and considering i don't like apples, i really enjoyed this drink too!
I definitely will be buying these flavours in future as i 100% love the fact that they are all natural and can be made quickly. Especially if you haven't got time to add milk, sugar and stir around like you do with a normal cuppa!
Surprisingly it's not too rich in flavour which i think is great as im not too keen on apple flavoured things. It leaves a nice after taste too!

'Ripple Popcorn' was my absolute favourite!!! I fell in love! Not only did i find real pieces of popcorn in this, it actually tastes soooo good! I love the name too!

I actually wanted more of this from the minute it finished. I made another cup a few hours later and practically face planted my cup and inhaled it within minutes despite it being hot. If i could buy gallons of this stuff i would. It's actual heaven in a teacup. A definitely recommend and my definite favourite. Thank you 'Born Wild Tea' for coming up with a flavour so perfect!

You should definitely check out their website at
Born Wild Tea and invest in these beautiful tasting teas! You won't regret it and i recommend all the flavours i have posted about!

* Disclaimer: All views are 100% my own and products that i have kindly been sent will always be tagged with their company and linked to their website!

Thanks for reading,
and i will be back with another post soon!

A bit of sunday thinking..

11:44

There's been times in the past, for all of us where we seem to have knock-backs or feel deflated about something you were hoping for that didn't happen.

Times like that make you stronger as a person. You should take it as a learning process and understand that there will be times when something isn't quite right for you but that something better will come along.

I myself, have tried a good few things over the years and not been successful in it or got the title i wanted straight away and I've had to start (just like everyone else) at the beginning. I told myself to never give up and its one thing I've always been taught to do. You just have to keep pushing yourself and eventually you'll get there.

The reason for today's blog post is, i'm sitting here looking at certain people i know's social media accounts and half wishing i was like them, that i had their job or their shoes or their phone, their life. A lot of people do this, especially with society always showing expectations and celeb culture. People follow trends and in all honesty it just makes you become someone else. You are no longer you, because you are trying to fit in, you are trying to keep up this other persona and in the end it makes you feel a bit crappy. You either cant afford the latest coolest gadgets like the Kardashian's or you have lost some of your hair attempting to dye it a certain colour that Instagram seems to deem 'cool'.

I've found the coolest most realest person you can be is YOURSELF.
Don't get caught up in the hype and do things out of character to impress your followers. I can guarantee those celebs you see online posting and posing in luxurious places are struggling with personal matters too and they feel pressured to post what they do to 'keep up'. Today's society is pressuring, and its sad because it literally kills people. Many young people suffer from eating disorders trying to be like a certain model or popstar and its very dangerous.

If more people embraced their own bodies for what it is and loved themselves regardless of not having expensive houses or clothes, you will feel a huge change within yourself and realise that YOU ARE ENOUGH and you always will be!

30min biscuits

14:04

Sweet tooth and craving some homemade biscuits that you can make in under 30 minutes?

Here's a recipe for some i've just made, with an added tweak* and they taste delicious!

I was sat watching the latest episode of 'I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here' and i decided when it went to the adverts that i fancied some biscuits. However, due to doing our shopping weekly we hadn't had any in that i fancied so i decided to make some myself.

Here's how;

175g plain flour
4 tbsp of sweetener (I don't use normal sugar however you can weigh some out)
100g butter
1tsp of vanilla essence

* i added some chocolate chips in mine

Pre-heat the oven to 150 (Fan)
mix butter and sweetener in a bowl until light and fluffy then add your flour.

mix well until dough like and thick enough to break off, roll out and cut into shapes. (Don't worry if you don't have a cutter, just break some off) - place on baking tray and bake on middle shelf for 30 mins.

All done!
ENJOY! xo
